1 Tours, Actividades y Experiencias

Mexico City is one of the most enjoyable destinations in the world. Its historical center, better known as Zócalo, is a World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO and the heart of a living culture that exudes all that has accumulated since the foundation of Tenochtitlán. Visit its neighborhoods flooded with art nouveau and art deco, enjoy its gastronomic offer and get lost in the streets of the city with more museums in the world.

Things to do in Mexico City

Visit the Basilica of Guadalupe: Each year, more than seven million people visit this shrine of the Marian faith north of Mexico City, second only to the Basilica of St. Peter in the Vatican. In addition to the modernist architecture of the site, this experience offers an immersion into the religiosity of Mexican society that has one of its highest expressions of faith in the Virgin of Guadalupe. A must see is the ancient Basilica, located on the top of the Tepeyac hill.

Tour the Historical Center: Visit the Templo Mayor Museum to introduce yourself to the fascinating Aztec culture and then, a few meters away, the Zócalo Square, one of the most emblematic spaces of the country.

Meet the Museum of Anthropology: The National Museum of Anthropology is as extensive as it is interesting. In its 24 rooms, it houses invaluable testimonies of Mexican archeology and ethnography. It is best to plan the visit in advance and give priority to the rooms that interest you.

Visit Teotihuacán: It is only 40 minutes from the city and its ruins are unforgettable. Upon arrival, you may want to hire the services of a guide. If you do the tour independently, you may want to enter immediately and see the ruins first to reserve the Museum Site for the end, or vice versa.

Enjoy Xochimilco: A totally traditional experience. The walk through the ancient canals of Xochimilco aboard a boat adorned with flowers called "trajinera" is a recommended departure for all visitors to the CDMX.

You must go up to the Latin Tower: Because it is the skyscraper with the best panoramic views of the city. Because you do not believe how big it is until you see it. Awesome.

Encourage a tour on tour buses: If you have little time and you prefer a quick visit, or you want to "recognize the land" before exploring the city, we suggest you go up to the Turibus or the Capital Bus.

Eat in the street: basket tacos, guajolotas (tamale cakes), carnitas, chilaquiles, pozole, esquites, quesadillas. At any time of the day, look for places with more row.

Visit University City: Among its wonderful spots there is the Central Library, the "volcanic" restaurant, Cloud Seven, the Islands, the corridors of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, the Sculptural Space, its theaters and halls, as well as its University Museum of Contemporary art.

Purchase antiques at the famous Tianguis de la Lagunilla on Sundays: Here you can find from furniture and carriages from the colonial era to old collector's gadgets such as telescopes, compasses, lenses, cameras, hats and precious fur rugs.
